Growing up in North York, my buddy and I had the motto of “too rich to stop” to describe the attitudes of those drivers. We also used the amount of time spent at a stop sign to gauge how wealthy someone was.

One day we were out on a walk and we saw someone stopped at a stop sign for a minute. My buddy just shook his head and said “that poor, poor man”.

Reminds me of the time I got passed on the left by a motorcyclist on a 1.95 lane road as I was making a left turn onto my street. If I hadn’t been watching my mirrors, that oblivious fool would have had a final few seconds of unsteady flight.
